Program Description
Pursuant to a Notice published in the Federal Register on February 13,2009, the State of
Georgia has tentatively been awarded a supplemental federal appropriation of
approximately $4.5 million dollars for long-term recovery efforts for damage caused by the
severe storms, tornadoes, and damage related to the federal disaster declarations made by
the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on March 20, 2008 (FEMA-1750DR)
and May 23, 2008 (FEMA-1761-DR). The supplemental appropriation is being
provided through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD)
Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and is expected to be
administered by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs' Community Development
and Finance Division.
Second Updated State of Georgia Action Plan for CDBG Supplemental Disaster Recovery Funds Posted 12/2/2010
In accordance with Federal Register Volume 74, Number 74, Docket No. FR-5337-N-01 and HUD guidance for Disaster Recovery Enhancement Fund (DREF) funding issued June 7, 2010, the Department is amending its CDBG Supplemental Disaster Recovery Action Plan to add two DREF eligible activities and add $640,000 to its requested budget. The Grantee Activity Numbers, Budgets, and Activity Descriptions are detailed in the Action Plan Amendment at the link below. The Action Plan Amendment also includes unmet needs data for the affected disaster areas.
The public is encouraged to submit their comments concerning the amended Action Plan using the convenient email link located at http://www.dca.ga.gov/communities/CDBG/programs/cdbg2008disaster.asp or via U.S.P.O. mail to the following address: Georgia Department of Community Affairs, 60 Executive Park South, NE, Atlanta, GA. 30329. Comments will be accepted through December 8, 2010

Second Round Notice of Fund Availability
Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFA) for the following counties (and cities within these counties): Bartow, Bibb, Burke, Carroll, Crawford, DeKalb, Douglas, Emanuel, Floyd, Fulton, Glynn, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Laurens, McIntosh, Treutlen, Twiggs and Wilkinson Counties. The funds will be distributed via a competition using the rating factors detailed in DCA's 2008 Updated Action Plan for CDBG Supplemental Disaster Recovery Funds. Note the deadline for applications is COB April 15, 2010.
